HarrisonParrott at the Munich Opera Festival

This summer seven HarrisonParrott artists take part in the annual Munich Opera Festival. Ain Anger and Mirjam Mesak sing Fafner and Freia respectively in Andreas Kriegenburg’s production of Das Rheingold under Valery Gergiev on 30 June and 3 July. Ain Anger also sings Daland in Peter Konwitschny’s production of Der fliegende Holländer under Simone Young on 7 July.
Following her highly acclaimed role debut in Dmitri Tcherniakov’s new production of Der Freischütz online earlier this year, Golda Schultz reprises her “glorious”, “outstanding” Agathe on 2 & 5 July, before joining forces with Anne Sofie von Otter as Contessa Almaviva and Marcellina respectively in Christof Loy’s production of Le nozze di Figaro on 14 & 16 July, conducted by Ivor Bolton.
Mirjam Mesak and Alyona Abramova sing Waldnymphe 1 and Waldnymphe 3, respectively in Martin Kušej’s production of Rusalka, led by Robert Jindra on 18 & 20 July.
Constantinos Carydis conducts one of only two new productions featured at this year’s festival, Antú Romero Nunes’ new production of Idomeneo, on 19, 22, 24 & 25 July.
In concert, on 23 July Golda Schultz joins a wealth of young talent nurtured by the Staatsoper’s Opernstudio in these last years, conducted by Jordan de Souza.
On 27 July, Lauren Fagan returns to the Munich stage to reprise the role of Norma in 7 Deaths of Maria Callas, an opera project by Marina Abramović which Lauren premiered in recent seasons.
Anne Sofie von Otter joins the line-up of a particularly special gala concert to close the Festival on 30 July, in honour of Nikolaus Bachler, outgoing Intendant of the Staatsoper.
