Santtu-Matias Rouvali returns to Minnesota Orchestra & debuts with Detroit Symphony Orchestra
Santtu-Matias Rouvali embarks on an American adventure this October, returning to Minnesota Orchestra and debuting with Detroit Symphony Orchestra. In a double bill featuring Gil Shaham, he will for the second time take over the baton of one of the finest orchestras in the country, in a programme featuring Strauss, Prokofiev and Brahms. A few days later he will give his debut in Detroit, supported by Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson. The programme consists of Grieg’s Piano Concerto as well as music by Sibelius, one of Santtu’s favourite composers.
