Akiko Suwanai returns to the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra
20/4/2018

This week Akiko Suwanai returns to the iconic Charles Bronfman Auditorium in Tel Aviv to join the forces with Maestro Gianandrea Noseda and to perform Bruch and Tchaikovsky violin concerti with Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Akiko performs on a “Hercules” Stradivarius from 1734, previously owned by Eugène Ysaÿe and Henryk Szeryng and kindly provided by the Orchestra. These concerts mark another highlight of the season following recent appearances with the Orchestre de Paris and NHK Symphony Orchestra – both conducted by Akiko’s regular artistic partner Paavo Järvi.
2018/19 season will see Akiko Suwanai performing around the globe with top-level orchestras and prominent Maestros. Together with Peter Eötvös, Akiko will open the composer’s residency with the Staatskapelle Dresden, and later on she will appear with the Polish National Radio Orchestra and Lawrence Foster in Warsaw, the RSB Berlin and Vladimir Jurowski in Berlin and Tokyo, as well as Helsinki Philharmonic and Susanna Mälkki.
