MASAAKI SUZUKI CONDUCTS HANDEL’S MESSIAH WITH NEW YORK PHIL AND SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY
7/12/2022
On 9 and 10 December, Masaaki Suzuki continues his tour on the American continent and conducts Handel’s Messiah played by San Francisco Symphony.
A few days later, Masaaki is the guest of the New York Philharmonic, conducting the same repertoire for five performances from 3 to 17 of January.
Handel’s Messiah became an instant classic soon after its 1742 premiere, becoming a holiday tradition around the world ever since. Through a dramatic series of arias, recitatives, and choruses, Handel offers a musical meditation on Christ’s birth, life, and resurrection, and his message of redemption.
