In a swift turn of events in Germany, Oper Frankfurt re-opens for performances with audience this month, featuring Božidar Smiljanić in the title role of Le nozze di Figaro from 12 June. Conducted by Finnegan Downie-Dear, this will mark Bozidar’s return to the operatic stage after performances of Joe Hill-Gibbins’ new staging of the same work at English National Opera was interrupted by the pandemic and for which Bozidar was praised for his ​“easy charisma and generosity” in the role (Opera).
