Based on Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, the programme draws on themes between Schubert and Rufus Wainwright, featuring specially-commissioned arrangements of Winterreise from Osvaldo Golijov, the world premiere of Rufus Wainwright’s Trois Valses Anglaises and his Three Songs for Lulu.
Drawing from their CD release of the same name on Naïve Records, the artists’ first collaboration So Many Things proved to be a huge hit around the world with audiences and critics alike. Particularly hailed for its luminescent arrangements of music from the worlds of contemporary opera through to experimental pop, the project was seen at the likes of New York’s Carnegie Hall, Stockholm’s Berwaldhallen, Luxembourg’s Philharmonie, and the Bergen International Festival.
