Yoav Levanon Debuts with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra
19/2/2026
Yoav Levanon steps onto the stage with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Eduardo Strausser for the first time in February 2026, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.23 in three concerts on 26, 27 and 28 February at the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall in Costa Mesa.
The programme continues with Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No.1, offering a striking contrast between Mozart’s luminous classical elegance and Mahler’s monumental symphonic soundscape.
Known for his attention to colour and detail, Yoav Levanon speaks about what makes this concerto particularly special for him:
“While looking like an extremely simple piece, it’s extremely complex. Everything depends on touch, on timing and listening. It’s almost like a dialogue between the piano and the orchestra, and I love this conversation. One of my favourite things about this concerto is the use of the F‑sharp minor key in the slow movement. Mozart doesn’t usually use that key, and here, it brings so much intimacy and vulnerability. And it’s such an incredible, memorable moment.”
