20/6/2025
This June, Orchestre de Paris sets off on an exciting tour across Asia, led by their conductor and Music Director, Klaus Mäkelä. On 20 June at Suntory Hall, Tokyo, the orchestra will play an all Ravel program featuring Le Tombeau de Couperin, Ma mère l’Oye, and the composer’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. On 22 June at National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, pianist Yunchan Lim joins the orchestra for Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.4, alongside works by Ravel and Saint-Saëns. In Taipei, Taiwan, the tour continues with two concerts at National Concert Hall: on 24 June, Yunchan Lim returns as soloist in Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 4, in a program that also includes Boulez’s Initiale and Berlioz’s Symphonie fantastique; on 25 June, violinist Daniel Lozakovich joins the orchestra for Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto, followed by Ravel’s arrangement of Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition. This tour highlights the orchestra’s expressive range and its inspiring collaborations with today’s leading young soloists.
