Camerata Bern travel to Denmark for a concert on 14 July during one of Europe’s leading international classical chamber music festivals, Hindsgavl Festival, in Middlefart. Artistic Director Patricia Kopatchinskaja leads the chamber music ensemble in George Enescu’s Octet for Strings. The other half of the programme features Kopatchinskaja with her frequent recital partner Polina Leschenko, performing Enescu’s moving Violin Sonata No.3.
The main intention of the Hindsgavl Festival, which has been running since 1951, is to be able to close the distance between music and the audience. Throughout the Festival, both the musicians and the audience have the chance to live together on site, discussing ideas together over meals, and the audience are offered an intimate experience of being able to hear the musicians rehearse in close proximity, as well as watching them perform, bringing the two worlds closer together.
