Robert Spano debuts at the Metropolitan Opera
21/9/2018
Robert Spano will give his debut at the Metropolitan Opera New York this autumn to conduct the US premiere of Marnie by Nico Muhly. Based on the novel by Winston Graham and set in the 1950s, this new opera is about a beautiful, mysterious young woman who assumes multiple identities.
Commissioned by the Met and co-produced with English National Opera, Robert Spano will conduct this exhilarating story of denial and deceit, with mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard and baritone Christopher Maltman in the leading roles.
