On 12, 13 and 14 September the Icelandic pianist debuts in the Orchestra’s season opening. The programme including Stravinsky’s Movements and Mozart’s Piano concerto N.24 also marks his first collaboration with Santtu-Matias Rouvali.

This big event prequels a series of recitals promoting Ólafsson’s coming new album with Deutsche Gramophon Johann Sebastian Bach: BBC Radio 3 Lunchtime concert, multiple recitals in Tokyo (Hakuju Hall, Suntory Hall), Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Detroit, Washington and Kansas City. Ólafsson will also be performing with Detroit, Jyväskylä and Swedish Radio Symphony orchestras and Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France before the new year.
