Ksenija Sidorova in Ravinia and Grafenegg festivals
Ksenija Sidorova returns to Ravinia Festival to play a solo recital on 3 July, with works by J‑S Bach, Kusyakov, Arkhipovsky, Voytenko and Schnittke. She was in Ravinia in 2016 presenting her Carmen project which gained huge acclaim:
“It was the musicianship of her playing that left the deepest impression during her Ravinia debut. In all, a tour de force of imagination, instrumentation and improvisation”
On 7 July, she plays the Piazzolla Concerto “Aconcagua” with Tonkunstler Orchestra under the baton of Mei-Ann Chen at Wolkenturm Open Air as part of Grafenegg Festival. She played this piece last week in Thomas Hengelbrock’s last concert as NDR Elbphilharmonie’s Chief Conductor to a full house in the iconic Elbphilharmonie.
