This month Hannu Lintu conducts Elisabeth Linton’s production of Tristan und Isolde with Finnish National Opera (FNO). The cast includes Lilli Paasikivi as Brangäne as well as Jyrki Anttila and Robert Dean Smith as Tristan and Johanna Rusanen-Kartano as Isolde. The production opens on 14 May, with subsequent performances on 17, 20, 25 and 28 May.
On 27 May Lintu also brings to a close the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra’s season with a programme featuring Beethoven, Berlioz, and Wagner, including the final scene of Götterdämmerung with soprano Violeta Urmana. In the 2016/17 season Lintu conducts FNO in Sibelius’ Kullervo with Finnish National Ballet, joined once again by Lilli Paasikivi.
