30/1/2015
For the first time since his announcement as their new Chief Conductor (from the 2015/16 season), Paavo Järvi returns to Japan to conduct his final three guest weeks with the NHK Symphony Orchestra.
Järvi and the orchestra are joined by soloists Alisa Weilerstein (Elgar’s Cello Concerto), Sayaka Shoji (Sibelius’ Violin Concerto) and Piotr Anderszewski (Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.25).
The concerts also feature a number of varied and major orchestral works, including Mahler’s Symphony No.1, Shostakovich’s Symphony No.5 and Strauss’ Don Juan and Ein Heldenleben.
