Hannu Lintu debuts with The Cleveland Orchestra
21/1/2015
In his debut with the orchestra, Hannu Lintu conducts The Cleveland Orchestra at Severance Hall on 29, 30, and 31 January. Stepping in to replace Tugan Sokhiev, Lintu conducts a programme featuring Sibelius’ Pohjola’s Daughter, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2 (with soloist Vadim Gluzman), and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.5.
Lintu and Gluzman recently worked together in autumn 2014, performing Schnittke’s Violin Concerto No.4 with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Earlier this season Lintu conducted the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and St. Louis Symphony and made his debut with the Minnesota Orchestra, while in May 2015 he is due to conduct the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for the first time.
