Perry So returns to the Tivoli Festival with a programme of Strauss and Wagner
18/5/2014
Following his successful appearance last year, Perry So returns to the Tivoli Festival to conduct a programme of Strauss and Wagner on 22 May.
The programme opens with two works by Strauss – the symphonic poem Don Juan and Vier letzte Lieder, sung by soprano Ann Petersen. So also conducts two orchestral excerpts by Wagner: the Introduction to Act III of Lohengrin and the Introduction and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde. Peterson is also soloist in Dich teure Halle from Tannhäuser.
Immediately following the engagement So travels to Israel to conduct the Israel Symphony Orchestra in a programme of Verdi, Ravel, Ginastera and Debussy.
