Perry So steps in to conduct the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in two concerts on 15 & 17 March. Replacing John Storgårds at short notice, So conducts Sibelius’ Symphony No.1 and Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1, with Louis Lortie as soloist. The programme opens with Dorothy Chang’s Strange Air.
Later in the month So returns to the Los Angeles Philharmonic where, in 2009, he was one of the inaugural Dudamel Conducting Fellows.
