Paavo Järvi announced Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor of London Philharmonic Orchestra from the 2028/29 Season

London Philharmonic Orchestra has announced Paavo Järvi as its next Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor from September 2028. In this role, Järvi will conduct the orchestra a minimum of 10 concerts in London per season, plus several domestic and international tours.
Paavo Järvi said: “I am honoured to take on the role of Chief Conductor and Artistic Advisor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. It is a privilege to work with an ensemble of such artistry and tradition, and I look forward to the music we will make together.”
As Chief Conductor Designate, Järvi is scheduled to lead three London subscription concerts in the coming seasons as well as touring concerts in the UK and abroad. In March 2026, he conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra in performances of Sibelius’ Symphony No.2 and Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.2 with soloist Alexandre Kantorow at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 4 March, followed by concerts in Budapest and Athens on 5 and 7 March.
