Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson is awarded the Nordic Council Music Prize in recognition of his ​“innovative interpretations, captivating performances, and ability to connect classical music with a broader audience.” This award is the latest in a string of accolades for Ólafsson, who earlier this year received the Gold Medal of the Royal Philharmonic Society and won the 2025 GRAMMY for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for his album of Bach’s Goldberg Variations.
