
Leia Zhu wins Opus Klassik Young Talent of the Year Award

Leia Zhu has been awarded Young Talent of the Year at the 2025 Opus Klassik Awards, Germany’s most prestigious classical music prize. The award ceremony takes place on 12 October at the Konzerthaus Berlin, where Zhu will perform alongside Lang Lang, Emily D’Angelo, Lucienne Renaudin Vary, Louis Philippson, Golda Schultz, Pene Pati, and the Konzerthausorchester Berlin under Anu Tali.
At 18 years old, Zhu is one of the youngest recipients in the history of the award and the youngest English violinist ever to receive this distinction. She is recognised for her album Camille Saint-Saëns: Complete Concertos, recorded with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Howard Griffiths.
