
Christoph Koncz appointed Chief Conductor of Bruckner Orchestra Linz and Music Director of Landestheater Linz

HarrisonParrott is delighted to announce the appointment of Austrian conductor Christoph Koncz to the position of Chief Conductor of the Bruckner Orchestra Linz and Music Director of the Landestheater Linz, starting in September 2027 for an initial period of 5 years.
The news was announced today by state governor Thomas Stelzer in a video press conference with Koncz, who participated immediately before his debut with the renowned Cleveland Orchestra. Stelzer praised Koncz’s international reputation and extensive experience at the Vienna State Opera, saying “he is also a guarantee for maintaining and further expanding the high quality of our music theatre as its music director and of the Bruckner Orchestra. It is a particular pleasure for me to introduce him as our new principal conductor, just as he is making his debut at the podium of The Cleveland Orchestra.”
Koncz took the opportunity to share his excitement about the appointment and the affinity he feels with the musicians:
“I am very much looking forward to continuing the wonderful development of Bruckner Orchestra Linz to establish it nationally and internationally as the most important Austrian orchestra outside Vienna.
