
PABLO HERAS-CASADO RETURNS TO BAYREUTH TO CONDUCT PARSIFAL AND OPEN-AIR CONCERTS

Pablo Heras-Casado returns to Bayreuther Festspiele to lead the revival of Jay Scheib’s production of Wagner’s Parsifal. The first performance is scheduled for 30 July, with additional performances on 8, 17, 24, and 26 August. The production features a cast including Michael Volle as Amfortas, Tobias Kehrer as Titurel, Georg Zeppenfeld as Gurnemanz, Andreas Schager as Parsifal, Jordan Shanahan as Klingsor, as well as Ekaterina Gubanova and Elīna Garanča alternating in the role of Kundry.
Heras-Casado also will conduct two free open-air concerts on the Green Hill in front of Festspielhaus on 24 and 28 July. The programme will include works by Gershwin, Beethoven, Mahler, Verdi, and Wagner.
Heras-Casado is also announced to conduct Der Ring des Nibelungen at Bayreuther Festspiele in 2028.
