ANGELA HEWITT’S RECITAL TOUR IN JAPAN
23/5/2025
Three years after completing her acclaimed Bach Odyssey in Tokyo in 2022, Angela Hewitt makes her long-awaited return to Japan.
Known as one of the world’s foremost J. S. Bach interpreters, Hewitt’s first three performances of the tour feature an all-Bach programme, including his Toccata in C minor, French Suite No. 5 in G major, Italian Concerto in F major, Partita No. 6 in E minor and his Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue in D minor.
Hewitt’s run of recitals first start at Takasaki City Theatre on 29 May, Yamaha Hall in Tokyo on 30 May and Kyoto’s Barocksaal on 1 June.
Hewitt concludes her tour of Japan on 3 June, at Philia Hall in Yokohama. As she continues to celebrate 50 years of performing Bach’s Goldberg Variations, this recital offers audiences in Japan an exciting opportunity to experience Hewitt’s profound connection to this monumental work.
