9/5/2025
A passionate advocate for newmusic and consistently expanding the classical accordion repertoire, Ksenija Sidorova gives the world premiere of the accordion concerto “Freedom” by Bulgarian-British composer Dobrinka Tabakova, together with Stuttgart Philharmonic orchestra and Michal Nesterowicz.
The performances take place on 17 May at Beethovensaal in Stuttgart, on 18 May at Kultur und Kongresszentrum in Weingarten for the opening concert of the Bodensee Festival for which Ksenija Sidorova is Artist in Residence this year, and on 19 May at Kulturhaus in Dornbirn in Austria.
On 18 May, during a pre-concert talk, Ksenija Sidorova and Dobrinka Tabakova share insights with the audience about the creation of this brand new accordion concerto.
On top of Stuttgart Philharmonic orchestra and the Bodensee Festival, other co-commissioners for that concerto include Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra (19 June), Dzintari Concert Hall in Jurmala (18 July with Latvian National Symphony Orchestra) and Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra (22 January).
