Goldmund Quartet in Japan
7/10/2022
The Goldmund Quartet is visiting Japan again to give four concerts at the invitation of the Nippon Music Foundation. They can be listened to with two different programmes on 7 and 8 October in the Blue Rose Hall of the Suntory Hall in Tokyo. They also give two further concerts in Tottori (10 October, Tottori Prefectural Kurayoshi Mirai Chushin) and Osaka (12 October, Izumi Hall). The programme includes Beethoven’s String Quartet No.6, Haydn’s Lark Quartet and Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, as well as works by Shostakovich, Mendelssohn, Webern and Puccini.
The Goldmund Quartet plays on the “Paganini Quartet” by Antonio Stradivari, generously loaned by the Nippon Music Foundation, making it the first German string quartet to be provided with these valuable instruments.
