Pablo Heras-Casado completes Wagner’s monumental saga Der Ring des Nibelungen, with performances of Götterdämmerung, from January 26 until February 17, with the Orchestra and Chorus of Teatro Real in Madrid. The production, conceived by stage director Robert Carsen, ends his first ever Wagner cycle, which since 2019, he has presented in Madrid over four successive seasons.
The star studded cast features Stephen Milling as Hagen. Following his appearances in Madrid, Milling returns to two key roles in his repertoire with performances as Gurnemanz at Deutsche Oper Berlin conducted by Axel Kober and as Sarastro at the Gran Teatre del Liceu under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel.
The complete tetralogy will be recorded for international distribution and broadcast on My Opera Player.
