Virtual Circle celebrates its 1 year Anniversary
8/12/2021
On 8 December 2020, HarrisonParrott launched its innovative digital concert and events streaming platform: Virtual Circle with a special concert by Klaus Mäkelä and Oslo Philharmonic. Conceived, created and launched during a year of unprecedented adversary caused by the impacts of COVID19 on the arts industry, HarrisonParrott created a way for artists and orchestras to continue to perform to paying audiences outside of the concert hall. Key to Virtual Circle’s ethos is to encourage the creation of performances especially for digital audiences and at the same time allow audiences to feel a connection with the artists performing on their screens.
Virtual Circle has succeeded in achieving these goals by working closely with our technology partners eMusic Live, to create a platform that allows for a deeper connection between the audience and artist.
We achieved this by incorporating these interactive features:
- Live chat feed (with moderator)
- NFTs in a ticket bundle
- Digital album shop
- Three call to action buttons
- Applause button
By providing content ranging from beautiful orchestral concerts featuring new works and talented soloists, moving choral works and intimate solo recitals, to visually impressive concert-movies and theatrical performances, Virtual Circle has been at the forefront of creative and innovative events throughout 2021.
Our achievements so far:
In our first year we delivered:
17 concerts
10 countries (worked with)
10 soloists
Our events included:
8 orchestral concerts
2 concert-movies
2 solo recitals
1 private event
2 theatre performances
1 Peking opera
4 choral groups

We are especially proud of our achievements in supporting and advising artists and orchestras to create content for the digital environment and combining new technologies, such as NFTs, to enhance audience involvement. We are delighted that Virtual Circle was the first streaming platform to use NFTs as part of a ticket bundle, for our concert with Pekka Kuusisto and Norwegian Chamber Orchestra.
