Javier Perianes releases his newest record on Harmonia Mundi on 9 July. Perianes tackles two of Chopin’s major works, Piano Sonatas No. 2 “Funeral” and No. 3, considered some of the grandest of the composer’s output, interspersed with the three mazurkas from Op. 63. The first of his records devoted entirely to Chopin, Perianes has previously recorded works by the composer in his album “…les sons et les parfums”, exploring the relationship between Chopin and Debussy and showcasing the latter’s admiration for Chopin as a composer.
