Antonio Méndez begins 2019/20 season with Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife
This week sees Antonio Méndez begins his second season as Principal Conductor of Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife as he conducts the orchestra on 13 Sep at l’Auditorio de Tenerife Adán Martín. The programme, themed around the ocean, features Wagner’s Overture to Der fliegende Holländer, Peter Grimes: Four Sea Interludes by Britten, La Mer by Debussy and Respighi’s Fontane di Roma.
Méndez returns to Tenerife in October to conduct a programme of works by Schumann on 4 Oct, including his Overture, Scherzo & Finale, Op.52, Piano Concerto in A minor, Op.54 with soloist Inon Barnatan, and Symphony No.1. He will also conduct Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore at Ópera de Tenerife between 24 and 27 Oct.
