STEFAN ASBURY CONDUCTS MESSIAEN’S TURANGALÎLA WITH AUCKLAND PHILHARMONIA ORCHESTRA
This month Stefan Asbury makes his debut with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, in a performance of Olivier Messiaen’s astounding Turangalîla Symphony. The piece, a cornerstone of the 20th century repertoire, is performed by over 100 musicians, including members of the Australian National Academy of Music, pianist Joanna MacGregor and Ondes Martenot player Cynthia Millar.
The concert is on 23 March at Auckland Town Hall as part of Auckland Arts Festival 2019.
