Jonathan McGovern makes his Welsh National Opera debut singing the role of the troubled Prince Andrei in David Pountney’s ambitious new production of Prokofiev’s War and Peace. The production opens on 15 September and runs until 24 November with a cast including Lauren Michelle (Natasha) and Marc Le Brocq (Pierre) under WNO Music Director Tomáš Hanus.

Prince Andrei is a new addition to Jonathan’s growing repertoire which already includes roles such as Pelléas, Papageno, Orfeo and Aeneas, with upcoming debuts as Don Giovanni and Eugene Onegin to look forward to further ahead.
