Ain Anger debuts as Boris Godunov

From 17 June to 7 July Ain Anger makes his anticipated debut in the eponymous title role of Boris Godunov, in Richard Jones’ new production at Deutsche Oper Berlin, conducted by Kirill Karabits.
Ain Anger has previously received critical acclaim for his appearances as Pimen at the Royal Opera House, the BBC Proms and the Bayerische Staatsoper, where he was described as being “outstanding” Bachtrack and having “real darkness” The Guardian.
On the back of his hailed debut as Hagen in Götterdämmerung earlier this season for his first appearances at the Canadian Opera Company and conducted by Music Director Johannes Debus, Ain will next travel to the Tanglewood Festival for performances as Fafner (Das Rheingold) under Andris Nelsons alongside Kim Begley’s Loge, before returning to the BBC Proms as Dossifei in another of Mussorgsky’s masterpieces, Khovanshchina, under Semyon Bychkov.
