Kim Begley and Ain Anger unite in Wagner at Tanglewood
Kim Begley and Ain Anger unite as Loge and Fafner, respectively, in Das Rheingold at the Tanglewood Music Festival under Andris Nelsons on 15 July.
With a wealth of experience of the world’s top operatic stages, Kim Begley has sung Loge most recently at Opéra national de Paris under Music Director Philippe Jordan, and with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under Jaap van Zweden as part of their Ring Cycle recording project.
One of the greatest Wagnerian basses of our time, Ain Anger has performed Fafner as well as Hunding (Die Walküre) in Europe’s most esteemed houses including Wiener Staatsoper, Semperoper Dresden, Bayerische Staatsoper, Gran Teatre del Liceu. This season he has added the mighty Hagen in Götterdämmerung to his repertoire in debut performances at the Canadian Opera Company under Music Director Johannes Debus.
