Barbara Hannigan receives two nominations in the Vocal category – her ‘Satie’album with Reinbert de Leeuw and her recording of Abrahamsen’slet me tell you with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and Andris Nelsons, both on the Winter & Winter label.
Also nominated in the Vocal category is Josep Pons’ ‘Mahler & Berio’ album with Matthias Goerne, Synergy Vocals and BBC Symphony on Harmonia Mundi.
Osmo Vänskä’s recording of Sibelius’ Symphonies Nos. 3, 6&7 with the Minnesota Orchestra on BIS is nominated for the Orchestral Award. This CD is the final instalment of Vänskä’s acclaimed Sibelius Symphony Cycle with the Orchestra as their Music Director.
In the Concerto category, Patricia Kopatchinskaja’s album of Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Stravinsky’s Les noces with MusicAeterna and Teodor Currentzis has been nominated.
The nominations are now open for members of the public to select their favourites. The winning recordings will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Kings Place on 19 April.
