Reuniting with Christian Thielemann at Dresden’s Semperoper, Derek Welton takes on the role of Heerrufer in Wagner’s Lohengrin in an all-star cast. Christine Mielitz’s production runs from 19 to 29 May, and the performance on 22 May is relayed live to the Theaterplatz as part of ​‘Semper Open Air 2016’.

Currently in his first season as a member of Deutsche Oper Berlin, Derek Welton continues to expand his repertoire with recent role debuts as Forester (The Cunning Little Vixen) and Baron Jaroslav Prus (Věc Makropulos). Forthcoming roles include Klingsor (Parsifal), Sprecher (Die Zauberflöte) and Escamillo (Carmen).
