Stephen Milling returns to Covent Garden in Wagner’s Tannhäuser
22/4/2016
This week, Stephen Milling returns to the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden as Herrmann Landgraf in Tim Albery’s production of Tannhäuser. Conducted by Hartmut Haenchen, performances run from 26 April to 15 May.
Universally acknowledged as one of the greatest Wagnerian basses of our time, Stephen Milling arrives in London fresh from a new production of Tristan und Isolde in Baden-Baden with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker and returns to Bayreuther Festspiele this summer as Hagen (Götterdämmerung). London audiences get another helping of Milling’s Wagnerian prowess next season when he returns to the Royal Opera House as Pogner in Kasper Holten’s new production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, conducted by Music Director Sir Antonio Pappano.
