One of Scandinavia’s leading mezzo-sopranos, Susanne Resmark, returns to the Royal Danish Opera this week as La principessa in Suor Angelica and Zita in Gianni Schicchi. Conducted by Giuliano Carella, performances run from 21 November to 3 December.
Having acquired an impressively varied repertoire during her long association with the Royal Danish Theatre, Susanne continues to take on new works with her role debut as Leokadja Begbick (Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny) at Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile under David Syrus to come this season. She will also return to the Bayerische Staatsoper as Mère Marie (Dialogues des carmélites) under Bertrand de Billy, and give a concert performance of Nielsen’s Maskarade as Magdelone at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam under Markus Stenz.
