Alexei Volodin performs his ‘Shakespeare in Music’ programme at the Vienna Konzerthaus on 24 October, having already given this recital at Paris’ Salle Pleyel, Barcelona’s Palau de la Música Catalana, Mariinsky Theatre and Istanbul International Music Festival.
The programme includes Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet: Ten Pieces, Mendelssohn’s Scherzo from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Medtner’s Four Tales and Rachmaninov’s Piano Sonata No.1.
Alexei will take this programme to Wigmore Hall and on tour in Japan later this year.
Also this week, Alexei returns to SWR Radio-Sinfonieorchester to perform Stravinsky’s Capriccio and Weber’s Konzertstück, under the baton of Dima Slobodeniouk. He performs two concerts at the Liederhalle Stuttgart on 27 and 28 October, the first of which will be live streamed, and also a concert at the Konzerthaus Freiburg on 30 October.
