Hannu Lintu makes his debut with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, conducting concerts on 8 and 9 May.

The programme features Augusta Read Thomas’s Cello Concerto No.3 ​“Legend of the Phoenix” with Lynn Harrell as soloist, Sibelius’ Pohjola’s Daughter and Shostakovich’s Symphony No.5. The concert on 9 May is broadcast live online.

Lintu will be in the United States again this summer when he returns to the Aspen Music Festival, following his debut there in 2014. He conducts the Aspen Festival Orchestra on 19 July in a programme of Strauss, Steven Mackey and Sibelius.
