On 4 December, Lisa Batiashvili and François Leleux perform the world premiere of Thierry Escaich’s Concerto for violin and oboe with the NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg under the direction of Alan Gilbert. The concert is repeated on 5 and 7 December, and the programme also features Thomas Adès’ Three Studies from Couperin and Berlioz’ Symphonie Fantastique.

The new work was commissioned by the NDR Sinfonieorchester with the New York Philharmonic, where Lisa and François perform the US premiere in April, again under Gilbert. 

Recently named as Musical America’s 2015 Instrumentalist of the Year, Lisa is the Artist-in-Residence with both orchestras during the 2014/15 season.
