Lisa Batiashvili – Artist in Residence with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

Lisa Batiashvili performs her first concerts as Artist in Residence with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, with whom she will feature as soloist and chamber musician throughout the 2016/17 season in Amsterdam and on tour.
In her first residency week, Lisa performs Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No.2 under the baton of Chief Conductor Daniele Gatti at the Concertgebouw (14 and 15 December) and at London’s Barbican (16 December). She will also perform Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence with members of the orchestra in the Recital Hall of the Concertgebouw (18 December).
Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto will feature in her second residency week, under Antonio Pappano, which, besides concerts in Amsterdam (7 and 8 January), will include one concert at Cologne’s Philharmonie (5 January).
For her final appearances in March, Lisa will perform Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto No.1 with Vladimir Jurowski (16 and 19 March in Amsterdam; 17 March in Antwerp).
Lisa will also feature as a guest on NTR’s ‘Podium Witteman’ (18 Dec, 18:00), at the orchestra’s ‘Club Night’ in March, and in a number of regional and national print media throughout her residency.
