Michał Nesterowicz and Ingolf Wunder debut with NDR Sinfonieorchester Hamburg
19/9/2014
On 25 September Polish conductor Michał Nesterowicz and Austrian pianist Ingolf Wunder make their debuts with the NDR Sinfonieorchester at the Usedomer Musikfestival in Peenemünde, Germany.
The festival celebrates the relationship between Germany and Poland with a programme of Polish repertoire which includes Chopin’s Piano Concerto No.1, Weinberg’s Suite No.4 from The Golden Key and Lutosławski’s Concerto for Orchestra.
This is the first of three German debuts for Nesterowicz this season: in November he will conduct the WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln and in spring 2015 he appears with the Münchner Philharmoniker.
Wunder’s recording of Chopin’s First Piano Concerto with the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Vladimir Ashkenazy was recently released on Deutsche Grammophon.
