On 23 August Lisa Batiashvili is the featured artist at the 33rd Prinsengrachtconcert in Amsterdam. The concert, which takes place outdoors on the canals, is broadcast live on Dutch TV (NPO 2) and streamed online for 30 days. Centred around the music by Bach, the evening also features pieces by Shostakovich, Tsintsadze and Piazzolla.
Joining Lisa for the concert are her husband, oboist François Leleux, and an ensemble of friends from the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Bayerisches Staatsorchester and Müncher Philharmoniker.
The group also performs two other concerts this week: at Schloss Elmauon 19 August and at the Salzburger Festspiele on 21 August – both with a programme of Bach and Shostakovich.
The concerts coincide with the release of Lisa’s latest Deutsche Grammophon album – “Bach” – which becomes available worldwide on 25 August.
