At the Grafenegg Festival in his role as this year’s Composer in Residence, Widmann conducts and performs a range of both his and other composers’ works in a number of concerts, as well giving a series of masterclasses throughout the Festival. On 21 August, his Babylon Suite will be premiered by the Tonkünstler Orchestra and conducted by Kent Nagano.
Finally, Widmann performs Mozart and Brahms’ Clarinet Quintets in a chamber concert with the Hagen Quartet at the Salzburger Festspiele on 26 August.
Previously this summer, Widmann was Artiste étoile at the Mozartfest Würzburg and Artist and Composer in Residence at the Rheingau Musik Festival.
