Tenor David Portillo joins HarrisonParrott for European management

HarrisonParrott is delighted to welcome tenor David Portillo to its vocal roster for European management, in collaboration with Ana de Archuleta in New York.
A graduate of the Ryan Opera Center and alumnus of both the Merola Opera Programme and Wolf Trap Opera, David has already distinguished himself in a series of roles by Rossini, Mozart and Donizetti in the USA.
In Europe, the current season sees his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper, as Conte Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia) on 1 & 4 February.
Also this season, appearances include Don Narciso (Il turco in Italia) for Opera Angers-Nantes, his role debut as Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) with Pittsburgh Opera and his debut at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence as Lurcanio in Richard Jones’ new production of Ariodanteunder Andrea Marcon.
Previous highlights have included his first David (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) with the Lyric Opera of Chicago; the premiere of Jean-Jacques Rousseau with Grand Théâtre de Genève; and Ferdinand in Thomas Ades’ The Tempest for the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, conducted by the composer.
