David Portillo makes his Wiener Staatsoper debut in Il barbiere di Siviglia

American tenor David Portillo makes his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper as Conte Almaviva in Günther Rennert’s production of Il barbiere di Siviglia on 1 & 4 February. Performances are conducted by Michael Güttler.
Further debuts for David this season include the Festival d’Aix en Provence in Richard Jones’ new production of Ariodante, singing the role of Lurcanio. He also makes his Salzburg Festival debut in a concert performance of Donizetti’s La favorite alongside Elina Garanca and Juan Diego Florez.
