Sauli Zinovjev’s Fade Out premieres on 18 September with Hannu Lintu and Sinfonia Lahti. The 20-minute orchestral work is a commission by Sinfonia Lahti and takes place at Sibelius Hall in Lahti, Finland.

Zinovjev explains that for him it is ​“important that music can stand on its own and open itself to the listener in multiple ways without a predetermined explanatory framework. Many great landmark works are good examples of this and have remained relevant perhaps precisely because their meaning is not bound to a single time or message…Fade Out was written in this spirit: it does not proclaim, but rather invites one into a space where there is no right or wrong.”
