On 21 October, Charlotte Bray​’s Ungrievable Lives receives its UK premiere at Wigmore Hall from the Castalian Quartet. As Bray’s first work for string quartet, the piece received its world premiere in Hamburg in March 2022, and will go on to other European venues during the course of the 2022/23 season.

Ungrievable Lives is a response to the current migration crisis, inspired by the work of British artist, Caroline Burraway, who reflects on the crisis within her work. Having witnessed the situation first-hand at refugee camps in the Mediterranean, Burraway’s installation comprises 13 children’s dresses handmade from refugee lifejackets, representing the 13 million child-refugees worldwide.
