HarrisonParrott is delighted to welcome Edd Mitton to our dance roster. A dancer, teacher, rehearsal director and stager, Edd brings a deep knowledge of choreographic heritage, meticulous attention to detail and a generous, collaborative approach in the studio. As a performer, he danced the Minotaur in Martha Graham’s Errand into the Maze, the first British company to perform the role since the 1970s. Sir Robert Cohan also created a solo for him in his final work. His performing career includes Sir Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake and The Most Incredible Thing, which he later restaged for Charlotte Ballet. As rehearsal director of Yorke Dance Project, he assisted on the staging of Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Sea of Troubles, whose film adaptation won Best Dance Film at the 2024 National Dance Awards. A qualified Benesh notator, he has since staged MacMillan’s Concerto for the Dutch National Ballet School. Edd is a trusted guardian of choreographic legacy.
“I am delighted to be joining the illustrious team at Harrison Parrott. I have a deep interest in preserving and restaging dance. I love working with Benesh Movement Notation in the studio, and am fascinated by the way it enables us to rigorously maintain the richness and intention of choreography, without straight-jacketing the artists who step into the work. I look forward to where this new relationship takes me, both geographically and artistically!’
