EUNIKE TANZIL ANNOUNCED AS COLORADO SPRINGS PHILHARMONIC COMPOSER-IN-RESIDENCE
5/5/2026
Polyarts Management and Birdsong Music Publishing are delighted to announce that Eunike Tanzil has been appointed Composer-in-Residence of Colorado Springs Philharmonic, beginning with the 2026/27 season. In this newly created role, Tanzil will compose new works and a sonic sound for the orchestra, collaborate with musicians throughout the season, and engage with audiences and students through special projects and educational initiatives across the Colorado Springs community.
The announcement coincides with the Philharmonic’s milestone 100th season, for which Tanzil has been commissioned to write a new orchestral work. This marks a fitting collaboration between one of classical music’s most compelling compositional voices and an orchestra entering its second century.
An internationally recognized composer whose work spans concert music, film, and cross-genre collaboration, Tanzil brings a distinctive musical voice marked by lyrical storytelling and rich harmonic language. She most recently attended the Philharmonic’s Itzhak Perlman concert and Luminous Gala, where her close connection to the orchestra’s artistic community was already evident.
“Being the first Composer-in-Residence of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic means a lot to me. I’m looking forward to engaging with the orchestra and writing music that feels connected to the community.” — Eunike Tanzil
Tanzil’s music has been performed by leading orchestras including the Boston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and National Symphony Orchestra. She has collaborated with artists such as Ray Chen, TwoSet Violin, Arturo Sandoval, and Laufey, including Only Mine, part of a Bose and Porsche campaign.
Tanzil is also the creator of Hum Me a Melody, a viral series transforming everyday melodies into orchestral works. Signed to Deutsche Grammophon, she released her debut album with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in 2025. Her film scoring credits include Pelangi di Mars and Asian Persuasion, as well as contributions to The Addams Family 2 and I Wanna Dance With Somebody.
Tanzil was recently commissioned by Samsung to reimagine its Over the Horizon theme for the new Galaxy series, recorded with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios and set for use across Samsung devices.
